Mill Road, while I'm on about the Coop, is incredibly congested with parking these days. It can be a real slalom driving up it. It's hard to give any precise explanations but the PC has been concerned for some time with the number of "backfilling applications" coming in. Where these are successful they are likely to significantly increase the possibility of on-street parking, I believe.
We have just opposed an application for an "Erection of two 3-bedroom dwellings with associated garages" at the rear of No 34 on grounds of overdevelopment, overlooking nearby property and as a further example of backfilling going on. A previous application for a three and a four bedroomed house was withdrawn.
