"BEEF products have been withdrawn from elderly people’s day centres in Central Beds after it was discovered they could contain traces of horsemeat.
"Central Bedfordshire Council has removed minced beef from its menus at its centres after their catering firm, 3663, recalled products were identified as containing horse DNA in one of 10 tests undertaken nationally.
"A spokeswoman for Central Bedfordshire Council said: '3663 supplies meals to our older people’s day centres. In light of the results from their recent tests we have stopped using related meat products from this company in our day centre meals with immediate effect'."
