Dorcas Lane wind farm opposition

The Aylesbury Vale, Dorcas Lane wind turbine application goes to AVDC committee tomorrow afternoon.  The planning officer is recommending refusal.

A letter to residents from SDLT (Stop Dorcas lane Turbines) states:

AVDC have now confirmed that the Strategic Development Control Committee will determine the application to build 4 turbines at Dorcas Lane on Weds 20th March. SDLT will represent the local community and speak at the hearing, along with representatives from the local parish councils. Force 9 Energy will also present their case for the application.

Planning Officer recommends rejection

We are extremely pleased to report that AVDC’s Planning Officer responsible for the Dorcas Lane application has recommended to the Strategic Development Control Committee that they reject the application.

He has given 3 reasons for recommending refusal, namely: the unacceptable impact on the landscape; the scale of impact on the quality of life that would be experienced by specific households close to the site (Residential Amenity) and, in the absence of information from Force 9 to the contrary, that access to the site via the proposed route of Hollingdon Lane would harm its character and appearance.
This does not guarantee that the Councillors will reject the application and it remains crucial that we attend on the 20th, make our local opposition known and do a great job of supporting the recommendation made by the Planning Officer. We also believe there are several other legitimate community concerns that the Councillors should consider when making their decision and we intend to present these to them on the day.
