Home farm dialogue

A very authoritative source tells me that Persimmon and Denison are once again in dialogue to resolve their dispute about  land on Home farm. But the key question is whether Central Beds Council are in dialogue with Persimmon about their unlawful occupation of a house on the site without fulfilling their planning obligations (i.e. securing access to Court Road) . We have a stakeholder meeting on 11 june. Hopefully everything will have been regularised by then. Though breath will remain unheld.

Persimmon email

Email to Persimmon sent on 14 March

At the February meeting of the Planning Committee, Members asked that I
write to you to request that you clarify the position with regards to the
'Dennison' land.  PCllr Sue Clark reported upon her conversation with you in
this regard, however I would be grateful if you could now confirm in
writing,  details of the negotiations relating to the this Land; including
commitment with regard to the community land; where the Company is with
regard to its intentions for purchase of the whole of the Dennison land and
the effect that retention of the land by Dennison will have on the overall
design.

Finally, Members have asked if you would be kind enough to inform residents
of the date of future commencement of works.

Home Farm and Denison

The Parish Council agreed tonight (subject to full council ratification) to write to Persimmon asking for their plans (in writing) if they they do not buy the Denison Land on Home Farm (in red see above).  The Community Hall is due to go on the Denison land. They reported to us that Denison are not selling - but I understand they say they will still buy the land needed for the community hall. We need some hard facts about what happens next.

Please note 1.3 above: "The site is in three separate ownerships. It is therefore crucial to plan for the development in a comprehensive way."

Exactly.

Home Farm Denison land

Property developers Persimmon have confirmed that they still intend to buy the Denison land (at the rear of Plough Close and Willow Springs) but have stressed that if they do not do so the community building will still be built - but elsewhere on the site.

I'm still trying to confirm this but I believe we need more information on what is happening here and the likely implications for the design of the site.
