Hedgehogwatch

Here's a great spring project - especially for schools perhaps. What's the state of the Hedgehog in Bedfordshire? Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity is inviting local people to send in sightings:


Hedgehog numbers have declined by over a third over the last ten years, the same rate as tigers. We are currently mapping the distribution of hedgehogs in the county – if you see one, please let us know here.

This project, which we are running in partnership with the Bedfordshire Biological Recording and Monitoring Centre and the Bedfordshire Natural History Society, will help our understanding of what is happening to hedgehogs, so that we can target conservation measures accordingly and apply for necessary funding.
