Flooding

We don't have the big catastrophic  rivers-bursting-their-banks flooding around Cranfield but Crawley Road suffers and many of the nearby roads get flash floods. And it seems to be getting wetter.

Central Beds is now drawing up its  Local Flood Risk Management Strategy. Organisations, key stakeholders such as town and parish councils and the public can contribute to the development of the strategy at various stages.

Between November  and January CBC is asking town and parish councils, stakeholders and residents to tell them how they feel about flooding in their area and how they think this should be managed. Next year stakeholders, partners and residents will be consulted on the draft strategy which will then go to public consultation. The final report is due in the autumn.

CBC will update its strategy on its website For more detailed information on Local Flood Risk Management Strategies please visit the Local Government Association website
