Access to Home Farm

If Persimmon want another bite at the cherry - Home Farm Mark II - there is more than just access to Church Walk to be looked at.

For instance, I am sure the village and  the parish council will want to raise the issue of access for vehicles.

Old Mid-Beds messed up big time when they made the vehicle access through Lodge Road to supposedly 'preserve our rural character'. Once the concrete had set on that decision it was immoveable. We tried to persuade Persimmon to consider moving it to the High Street via the Goodman Land and Villa Park residents did a symbolic blockade (see below|) but the housing giant wouldn't budge. I would suggest, therefore, Persimmon's first application should be access only with all other matters reserved. And we can have one heck of discussion about just where the traffic will all go.

And Central Beds and Persimmon can listen.

Hard.

So a disagreement between two developers results in a stalemate that we the villagers and CBC are asked to agree a compromise ? They may well try to convince us all that its for our benefit, however these businesses are primarily there to make a profit. Our interests will always be secondary.
By Denisons own figures, the two companies agreed 72 houses for the land in question, Persimmon then offered 62 on a take it or leave it basis….

so we have a 15% reduction in profit for how many shareholders that have no interest in the wellbeing of Cranfield ?....yet we (population 4,909 and rising) are expected to agree a 25-30% reduction in village benefits on a development that the ‘village’ never wanted in the first place….
If anyone should be adopting a take it or leave it attitude, its Cranfield and CBC…..personally, if these two companies can’t agree their own business plan, then perhaps the plans should be withdrawn, the houses already built demolished and the land returned to its former state.
