Caring for those with dementia

Given Rina Persaud's promotion of dementia awareness (see previous big post) CBC's carers' day is relevant.

Carers in the area are being encouraged to come to the latest Carers' Forum at Priory House, Chicksands on Friday 13 December, at 9.30 to 12.30 which aims to bring local carers together to share experiences and talk to a range of professionals.

You can book your place at the forum by calling 0300 300 8036 or by emailing carers@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk

The forum will focus on dementia, providing an overview of dementia services across Central Bedfordshire. Councillor Carole Hegley, Executive Member for Social Care said although the focus was on dementia, all carers were welcome and there would be chances to meet other carers and get information and support.

More information about local support is available in Cranfield surgery through the Carers' Pack. Go to www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/carers, email carers@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk or call the Central Bedfordshire Carers Helpline on 0300 300 8036.
