A parishioner writes about the redundant bus shelter at the Swan ( see below):
I have replied:
Sensible suggestion and I've been trying to find a way of re-using this structure. Its not ideal elsewhere as its closed-in nature means we cannot put it on footpaths where it would block access to buggies and mobility scooters. We don't want to move it to the current bus stop at the Swan, in front of the war memorial for the simple reason that we think its wrong to block the view of the memorial. I actually thought it would make someone a great greenhouse!
Re the bus shelter – does that mean that there will no longer be a bus stop at The Swan?
Can the shelter be re-allocated to another bus stop or placed in Broad Green or the Rec to provide some shelter for parents supervising their respective offspring?
