When's the next bus?

Young people are among the most important users of buses. I was talking to someone in Fil's hairstop yesterday. Her son aged 17 faces insurance costs of thousands of pounds if he passes his driving test. And many young people cannot access a car under any circumstances. Round here Sunday and evening buses have disappeared and you can't even get a bus to Wootton - for goodness sake. So buses are a way of life for many many young people.

BABUS - The Bedford Area Bus Users Society has published this useful information (among others) in its latest newsletter.

TRANSPORT MINISTER LAUNCHES NEW
YOUNG PERSON’S TRAVEL SITE

Transport Minister Norman Baker has launched
BUSFORUS www.busforus.co.uk, a new and
interactive website designed to help 16-25 year
olds get the very best from buses.

BUSFORUS, produced by the Confederation of
Passenger Transport UK (CPT UK) on behalf of
the UK bus industry, has a lot of
information on services, facilities and
tickets types available from bus operators
across the country.

The site – available on PC, smartphone and
tablet – also uses  mapping tools to
find and direct visitors to their nearest bus
stops.
