What to  do afterwards with this one off flag? How about mounting it and surrounding it with photos of local jubilee activities in  the village hall? 

Could go up with the golden jube flag.

Music(k) at St Peter and St Paul's

'Music' spelt with a 'K'? must be some fancy pants 18th century stuff. But Handel sounds good however you spell it (or him, Handle?) See the church notice below

Saturday 2 June 10 – 12    Coffee morning at Cranfield Parish  Church – enjoy coffee/tea and a cake whilst listening to local musicians playing excepts from Handel's Water Musick and his Firework Music.  Music starts at 10.30.

These well-known majestic pieces of music have royal connections ... Handel's Water Musick was premiered for King George 1^st on his parade up the Thames on 17^th July 1717, whilst the Firework Music was commissioned by King George 2^nd to celebrate the end of the Austrian war of Succession.  Over 12,000 Londoners watched its rehearsal on 21^st  April 1749 in Vauxhall Gardens in London, before a concert for King George on 27^th April 1749.  So why not get into the spirit of the Jubilee weekend and enjoy a drink and cake in the grand setting of our local parish church.  All welcome; please pop in and enjoy the delightful ambiance.

All local Uniformed Organisations, Youth and Children’s Groups are invited to participate in a service of celebration on Sunday 3rd June at 10.30am to mark the Queens’ Diamond Jubilee. 

The Service will last about 45 minutes and will include the opportunity for banners and flags to be paraded, for well-known songs and hymns to be sung and prayers said for the Royal Family. While there will be no formal march down the High Street (as on Remembrance Sunday) it is expected that there will be room for at least some groups to gather at the recently refurbished Village Hall prior to coming over to the church with banners etc. 

It would be very helpful if those groups hoping to join in this special service would let the Rector know and perhaps closer to the time give an indication of numbers expected. 

In addition if there is any particular message or display that any group may wish to make towards the service then we would be glad to hear.
