Philip Stothart from the Thriftvale scout group as written to us about Scout Community week in May:
You may have seen or heard in the media of the return of 'Bob a Job Week' for Scouts. While the media publicity has been great for us we can assure you that there won't be lots of small children knocking on the doors of Cranfield offering to do jobs. What will be taking place is Scout Community Week, a week in which Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are encouraged to help the communities in which they based with projects to improve the local environment while raising money for the Scout Development Fund. So basically what we are looking for is ideas for projects we can do for you the Parish Council.
We are not looking for any money from the Parish Council just the opportunity to try and complete one of the projects at time when people are about and are able to donate should they wish. The emphasis of community week is to improve an aspect of the local community, the fundraising is secondary although the Scout Development fund does play vital role subsidising less well off children in scouting.
Scout Community Week takes place from the 14th-20th, your support would be appreciated.
Many thanks

I think we have to engage with this and give our youth organisations as much help as possible. Watch the blog
