A421

Looks like the new A421 is nearing completion. At least you can see the signs for Cranfield now up on the side of the carriageway. Nice to have our existence confirmed. The turn-off from Junction 13 to Salford/Hulcote is dramatic and it has "Cran" in one of the carriageways. More proof that I didn't just imagine that I lived in there.

Any ideas as to when it will actually open? Highways Agency documents still insist it's going to be late December but it looks to me like it's days away with some tarmac required at the Bedford end and a bit of line painting. Can they really drag it on until XMAS??

You are probably checking the same websites as I am. The link above seems to suggest imminent completion and opening. Lots of whitelining etc. It would good to have it done dusted in time for use by Santa, as you say
